LAWMAKERS WORKING ON CRIMINAL JUSTICE REFORM BILL

SANTA FE (KOB) – Just ahead of the Legislative Session, a group of lawmakers are working on bills that would be included into a criminal justice reform package during the session. KOB reports that the committee has already endorsed a number of bills that deal with criminal justice reform; however, many of those they’re considering were previously vetoed by Republican Governor Susana Martinez. Lawmakers will be able to introduce bills into the 2019 legislative session after December 17th, which is the first day for bills to be pre-filed. The session will begin on January 15th.
