IRS WARNING OF SCAMMERS THIS TAX SEASON
NEW MEXICO (KSMX) – With tax time upon us, that means scammers are out in full force. IRS is issuing a warning and sharing some tips to keep you from being targeted. The IRS says there are reports, of requests for personal information such as social security number by email, text and phone calls. There are some reports of requests for money, outright. IRS reminds taxpayers the department will never call if you owe taxes without first sending a bill in the mail, or ask for debit or credit cards over the phone.
