HUNG JURY IN PORTALES TRIAL
Portales, NM (KSEL) – A jury in Portales could not reach a verdict in the case of a local man charged with inappropriate acts with a child. Thirty-nine-year-old Michael Borden was on trial last week for crimes against a girl who was under the age of 13. Prosecutors say the crimes took place from 2013 through 2015 in Roosevelt County. The jury deliberated for over two hours late into Tuesday evening, but told the judge they would not be able to reach a unanimous verdict. State prosecutors told the judge they would prepare for another trial, which was scheduled for February.
