Highway 70 reopened after fire in Portales

Multiple agencies responded to the fire, including units from Clovis, Arch and Dora.

Roosevelt County Office of Emergency Management closed a portion of Highway 70, just outside of Portales, in response to a fire near mile marker 425 at Red Stag Trucking Company.

The highway was closed for several hours Monday afternoon while safety crews monitored for hotspots.

Portales Fire Department classified the fire as a commercial structure fire. At 7:15 pm they posted an update on Facebook to let the community know that the fire was extinguished . The Roosevelt County Office of Emergency Management posted that no-one was injured in the fire.
