HIGHLY ANTICIPATED CLOVIS MUSIC FESTIVAL KICKS OFF FRIDAY

Clovis/Curry County Chamber of Commerce and Clovis Economic Development (CED) are very excited about this weekend’s music festival! The Clovis Music Festival found its start in 1987 when Vi Petty wanted to find a meaningful way to honor her late husband, Norman Petty, and his legacy. Local to Clovis, Norman Petty founded a small but widely successful music studio in his hometown, he was also a world-renown record producer. The Norman Petty Recording Studio gifted the music world with the infamous Clovis Sound and also gave rise to numerous artists who have had a profound impact on the music industry. Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison, Buddy Knox, and Waylon Jennings, are just a few of those artists.

The Clovis Music Festival has gone by many names and has been supported by varying groups of people, all while showcasing many well-known musical acts in its 36 years. These musical acts have alternated in range, from classic rock to contemporary country to rockabilly to Norteño. Every year, the Clovis community and surrounding area have looked forward to celebrating music together, and remembering that at its heart Clovis truly ROCKS!

The Chamber along with Clovis Economic Development have some really great artists performing for our local community on Friday and Saturday, and we hope to see you all there singing, dancing and making heartfelt connections.
