Harwood Museum announces closing events for Pursuit of Happiness art exhibit

Taos, NM – The Harwood Museum of Art in Taos has announced the closing of its Pursuit of Happiness: GI Bill in Taos exhibition. In honor of the collection, the museum will hold a Mystery Cabaret event written and directed by New Mexico playwright John Biscello, on Friday, May 22 and Saturday, May 23. Details are as follows:
WHO: Harwood Museum of Art invites the community to celebrate the closing of Pursuit of Happiness: GI Bill in Taos with an interactive theater experience.
WHAT: Written and directed by local playwright John Biscello, Mystery Cabaret transforms the museum into a lively evening of art, storytelling, and audience participation.
The production features both youth and adult actors including Sierra Lindsey-Biscello, Erica Christie, Amber Vasquez, Caitlin Alexander, Shintaro Yokoyama, Susan Nuss, and Charlie Brown.
Guests are invited to step into the mystery: an important artwork has been stolen from the exhibition. Participants will work together to uncover clues, interrogate suspects, and solve the case during this immersive, all-ages theatrical event.
Featuring handcrafted mocktails by Rolling Still Lounge and a dessert bar, Mystery Cabaret promises a night at the museum unlike any other. Audience is encouraged to dress in costumes from the 1940s era.
WHY: Pursuit of Happiness: GI Bill in Taos closes May 31, 2026. Harwood Museum of Art will remain closed to the public until the opening of Unearthing Futures / Desenterrando Futuros on June 27, 2026.
