Governor, state officials to give press update on COVID-19 efforts

SANTA FE (KSMX)- Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham and state officials will host a remote news conference this afternoon at 3 pm, to provide an update on COVID-19 efforts in New Mexico and related emergency public health orders.

RooneyMoon Broadcasting will carry the stream live on Mix 107.5.

On May 20, state officials announced that New Mexico continues to stay on track with gating criteria data. Even while lessening restrictions on some nonessential businesses, New Mexico has seen a slow but sure decline rate of spread in each region of the state. Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham also announced on May 27 that the state’s emergency public health order was amended to permit limited outdoor dine-in services for most of the state.

Dine-in services inside restaurants and bars remain temporarily prohibited.

Part 2 of Phase 1 will include further lessening of restrictions on:

  • salons
  • barbers
  • gyms
  • indoor malls
  • dine-in restaurants.
  •  It will also include a potential expansion of occupancy limits for houses of worship and hotels/motels.
