GOV LUJAN GRISHAM GIVES ANNOUNCES UPDATES TO CAMPING, YOUTH SPORTS PRACTICE AMONG OTHERS

New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham announced Thursday the state saw 159 new positive COVID-19 cases. The state now has a total of 27,199 cases of 845,167 tests conducted to date. Currently there are 69 people hospitalized. The state also reported four new deaths related to COVID-19. The states target for a rolling 7-day average is 168 cases. Currently, the 7-day rolling average is 90. The state has a positivity rate of 2.16%. Gov. Lujan Grisham also announced an update to the public health order. Included in the update is youth sports practice and skills development are permitted now in group with no more than 10 in a group, as well as camping for New Mexico residents in groups less than 10 beginning October 1st, is permitted as well.

Ice skating rinks and swimming pools are also permitted for training, and exercise. Masks in all circumstance except being in the pool are still required.

Finally, also permitted is pick-your-own pumpkin patches. The state will be issuing guidance and COVID safe practices to other autumn activity operators such as corn mazes and haunted houses.

This updated health order is in effect until Mid-October.
