GAS PRICES CONTINUE TO DECLINE

NEW MEXICO (KSMX) – Gas prices in New Mexico continue to slide down as the crude oil prices continue falling. AAA New Mexico Weekend Gas Watch reports that the statewide gas price average in New Mexico is $2.17 for a gallon of regular unleaded fuel. That price is four cents less than this day last week and a whopping 18 cents less per gallon over one year ago at this time. The national average price for a gallon of regular unleaded is $2.25 which is five cents less compared to this day last week and 24 cents less than the price per gallon on this day last year. It remains unclear how long prices will continue to fall, as OPEC recently decided to make changes that will likely lead to higher oil prices in 2019. Crude oil prices have been declining due to an abundance of supply on the global market.
