FLU SEASON RUNS RAMPANT IN NM

NEW MEXICO (KSMX) – Health officials say influenza has been steadily active since the start of “flu season.” That has them repeating the call for flu shots. Since October, NMDOH has investigated six flu outbreaks in facilities around
the state. Children age four and younger have been hospitalized for influenza at a higher rate than at this time last year, or any year since the 2009 pandemic. According to the NMDOH, 19 people have died in New Mexico this year as a result of the flu. The state department says we are only about ½ through the flu season. Flu shots are available through your doctor, pharmacies and public health clinics.
