FIRST THURSDAY IN MAY IS THE NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER

The National Day of Prayer will be celebrated throughout Curry County and across the nation on Thursday, May 6, 2021 – and just like last year – the events will offer a number of socially distanced options. Prayer from home is encouraged all day, but the city has three scheduled events – all planned in accordance with the current COVID-19 gathering restrictions.

  • Walk & Pray at Hillcrest Park (sun up to sun down) From sun up to sun down on May 6, National Day of Prayer participants are invited to walk a 2- mile loop at Hillcrest Park.
  • Children’s Walk & Pray at Hillcrest Park (sun up to sun down) Families will have the opportunity to bring their kids along for this short walk around Hillcrest Park pond.
  • National Day of Prayer – Curry County Courthouse (12-1 p.m.) The event will be outdoors in front of the Court House across from the Clovis Carver Library, participants are asked to comply with social distancing guidelines. In case of inclement weather, this National Day of Prayer event will move to Legacy Life, 622 North Main Street.
