FIRE DEPARTMENTS RECEIVE INCREASES IN ANNUAL STATE FIRE FUND
CLOVIS (KSMX)- The fire departments of Broadview and Pleasant Hill, along with the County Fire Administration, have received increases in their annual State Fire Fund allotments. The Broadview and Pleasant Hill fire departments saw large increases in funding due to
Improvements in insurance ratings made last year. Those improvements also allowed for the Curry County Fire Administration to see an increase as well. The departmental insurance rating improvement and total annual funding is as follows:
- Broadview improved from a Class 9 to a Class 8b and will receive $151,970 for two stations.
- Pleasant Hill improved from a Class 9 to a Class 7 and will receive $80,454 for one station.
- Curry County Fire Administration improved from a Class 9 to a Class 8 and will receive $75,985.
“Some of the additional funding will be used for projects such as purchasing new apparatus, communications upgrades, water storage development, and fire station improvements,” said Curry County Fire & Safety Director David Kube.
