ENMU students recognized for academic performance in national test

PORTALES (KSEL)- The fifteen-top scoring ENMU freshmen in a nationally normed test of general knowledge were recognized this fall by President Dr. Jeff Elwell, who commended them for the academic performance. Freshmen completed the ETS Proficiency Profile, taking either a multiple-choice test or completing a written essay.

The ETS Proficiency Profile assesses critical thinking, reading, writing and mathematics. Institutions use data from these assessments to examine program effectiveness and to guide curriculum requirements.

Dr. Patrice Caldwell, Chief of Staff at ENMU, said, “ENMU appreciates the effort that these students put into their assessment testing. We are pleased to have so many strong academic performers in our freshmen class.”

Results provide the university with insights about where students start their educational journey, how their scores compare with national averages and how much seniors gain against that national average in four years.
