ENMU MAKING STRIDES TO ADDRESS FOOD INSECURITY WITHIN STUDENT COMMUNITY
Eastern New Mexico University’s Office of Campus Life welcomes students back to campus with the Spring 2023 semester, and is working to ensure that some students don’t have to worry about food insecurity while fulfilling their educational goals.
Campus Life has partnered with the ENMU Physical Plant to create a food panty on campus, accessible only to ENMU students. Pantry hours are the same as the Greyhound Lounge located in the Campus Union Building basement, Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
“Over the years faculty, staff and students have requested a food pantry on our campus to ensure that some students don’t have to worry about food insecurity,” said Rey Coss, director of campus life. “The Office of Campus Life, working with Student Government, secured a food pantry in the Campus Union Building to help students have a resource so they do not have to worry about food insecurity while they are trying to reach their higher education goals.”
To stock this panty, Campus Life is seeking help from the public to fill the pantry with non-perishables and supplies. Donations may be brought to the Campus Life office in the Campus Union Building, room 104. Contact the office at 575-562-2108 or email email@example.com for assistance or to schedule a pickup of donated goods. Attached is a list of items you can donate.
