ENMU hosts virtual graduation for the class of 2020
PORTALES (KSEL)- At the end of March, students at Eastern New Mexico University were asked to complete the remainder of the spring semester via online instruction from their permanent residences, and graduation ceremonies were postponed due to public health pertaining to the ongoing health pandemic.
In a press release, Eastern New Mexico University has announced that they will celebrate the graduates of the class of 2020 with a virtual ceremony on May 30, at 10 a.m.
The ceremony will be pre-recorded and broadcast statewide at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 30, on KENW 3-1 and 3-2, and will be available as a webcast, streaming from the ENMU-Portales website, www.enmu.edu. The virtual ceremony will conclude with a showcase featuring photos submitted by the graduates to introduce our newly minted alumni.
“Throughout the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, ENMU has focused on the safety of our students, our faculty and staff,” said Dr. Patrice Caldwell, interim president. “In designing this event, we consulted with the campus community about how best to celebrate our graduating students. We hope it conveys our pride in our graduates and their accomplishments and creates a happy ENMU memory for them, their families and friends.”
ENMU will also allow all spring 2020 graduates the opportunity to walk in the Fall 2020 Commencement Ceremony in December.
