EDUCATION BILL PASSES SENATE

SANTA FE (KSMX) – In the Legislative update, the New Mexico State Senate passed the omnibus Public Education Changes bill unanimously. The bill includes increased services to at-risk-students, increased pay for teachers, opportunity for increased education time for students and improved budgetary accountability for programs that serve at-risk-students. Senate Minority Leader Stuart Ingle reminded lawmakers of the importance of parental involvement in their children’s education, noting “education has always been the main focus of the legislature.”
