Early voting information for June 2020 elections

CLOVIS (KSMX)- Following a New Mexico Supreme Court Order, major party voters should receive in the mail an application to vote absentee in the June 2020 Primary Election.

Per the release, the New Mexico Secretary of State has sent Absentee Ballot Applications to all voters registered as Democrat, Republican, or Libertarian. The final day to register to vote in the 2020 Primary was May 5. Voters wishing to vote absentee, by mail should complete the application and return it to the Curry County Clerk’s Office by May 28. Voters can also request an absentee ballot online at NMVote.org.

Although Curry County Offices remain closed to the public for regular business, Early Voting is ongoing in the Curry County Clerk’s Office. Early Voting is available in Clerk’s Office from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. The Clerk’s Office will also be open on the final Saturday of Early Voting, May 30, from 10:00 am – 6:00 pm.

Early Voting will also be offered at the Youth Recreation Building (YRB), starting Saturday, May 16, from 10:00, am to 6:00 pm, Tuesday through Saturday (closed Sundays and Mondays). The North Plains Mall will not be open for Early Voting for the June 2020 Primary. Early Voting ends on May 30.

Election Day Polling Places, as previously designated by the Board of County Commissioners, will be open from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm for voters to cast their ballot. All polling places are considered Voting Convenience Centers.

Any eligible voter may vote at any location, you do not have to go to a specific polling place based on your precinct.
