DRIVE BY SHOOTING SUNDAY EVENING LEAVES ONE VICTIM

On Sunday, January 16, 2022, at about 1835 hours the Clovis Police Department received a call of a shooting victim at 1217 Mora Street. On arrival to the location, officer located a 17-year-old female lying on the couch inside the residence with a single gunshot wound to the abdomen area.
Clovis Fire Department, also responded to this address and as the scene was secure, they began emergency medical aid to the shooting victim.
The victim of this shooting was transported to Plains Regional Medical Center – ER where she was seen by staff and then flown to a hospital in Lubbock, Texas for further care.
A Detective with the Clovis Police Special Operations Unit was called to the scene on Mora and began an investigation. It was learned by talking to the victim and witnesses, the victim was in the driveway to the residence when a black-in-color SUV (possibly GMC Yukon) drove past and began shooting.
No suspect has been positively identified. The Special Operations Unit is gathering information related to possible suspect(s) responsible for this shooting.
