“Doc” Elder appointed to the New Mexico Museum of Space Commission
CLOVIS (KSMX)- Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham has appointed Portales’s very own, Doc Elder to the serve on the New Mexico Museum of Space History Commission.
Dr. Donald Elder III, is a professor of history at Eastern New Mexico University, morning DJ and sports show host/game announcer for the Rooney-Moon Broadcasting group of radio stations in Clovis and Portales.
Among many of Dr. Elder’s awards and accomplishments, he has also been indicted to the New Mexico Broadcast Association radio hall of fame. He has also won first place in the Sports Show category from the New Mexico Broadcasters Association at their state convention for his Valley Furniture Post-Game Show from December 5, 2015.
Dr. Elder stated, “it is an honor to serve on a state commission overseeing a state-of-the-art facility showcasing New Mexico’s important role in our nation’s space history”.
The New Mexico Museum of Space History in Alamogordo is a division of the New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs, under the leadership of the Governor’s Commission to the New Mexico Museum of Space History.
