DETAINEE FOUND UNRESPONSIVE IN ROOSEVELT COUNTY DETENTION CENTER
On Sept. 13, 2022 just after 4pm Arnold Candelaria was found unresponsive in the Roosevelt County Detention Center. Emergency services were dispatched and responded to the scene. Life-saving measures administered by Detention personnel and the onsite medical provider were unsuccessful. The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the scene and is conducting an investigation of the incident.
According to a statement sent from the County Manager’s office:
“Candelaria was booked into the facility on Sept. 13, 2022 after 11am. The detainee was transported to the Roosevelt County Detention Center by an Officer with Probation and Parole. At the time of intake, Detainee Candelaria was pending charges for a Probation Violation for original charge of Voluntary Manslaughter/Burglary of a vehicle/Craft structure/Non-residential/Larceny with stolen property/Possessing Firearms/Destructive devices by a felon.”
