December CMS teacher of the month
CLOVIS (KSMX)- In front of colleagues, administrators and board members, Ninth Grade Seminar teacher Brian Pickard was named Clovis Municipal Schools’ newest Teacher of the Month.
Tuesday morning as students were still arriving for the school day, Clovis High School Freshman Academy staff gathered in the library for an “emergency” meeting called by Principal John Howell, with the secret intention of revealing the Teacher of the Month.
Pickard has been with Clovis Municipal Schools for approximately 15 years and consistently receives some of the highest evaluations in the district.
Typically, the Teacher of the Month is given a new vehicle to drive for a month, however, Pickard humbly declined the vehicle and was instead given a $200 gas allowance by Shawn Hamilton, General Manager of Hamilton Auto Group.
