Curry County upgrades voting machines for upcoming elections
CURRY COUNTY (KSMX)- The Curry County Clerk’s Office is pleased to announce upgraded voting machines that will be used for upcoming elections in Curry County, including the 2020 City of Clovis and Village of Texico Municipal Elections, and 2020 Primary and General Elections.
Voting Machines (Tabulators) are allocated and distributed statewide by the Office of the New Mexico Secretary of State. The upgrade came at no cost to Curry County for purchase or set-up.
Several New Mexico counties have been utilizing this tabulator model in recent elections with success.
Voters will see bigger screens, making it easier to view their ballot cast successfully, in addition to improved options for Accessible Voting. As in previous elections, voters will still fill in paper ballots and feed them into the machine.
“We are excited to see improvements in efficiency and accessibility at our polling places with the new equipment,” said Annie Hogland, Curry County Clerk.
