Curry County secures federal grant for bulletproof vests

Media Release, Curry County Administration
Clovis, NM – Curry County has been awarded $14,230.22 in federal funding under the Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 Bulletproof Vest Partnership (BVP) program. The grant is administered by the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), a component of the U.S. Department of Justice.
The BVP initiative helps local law enforcement agencies purchase armored vests. This funding will directly subsidize 50% of the cost of new, state-of-the-art ballistic protection for Curry County deputies, ensuring active-duty personnel have critical equipment tailored to field safety.
“Our federal partnerships are crucial to the safety of our County. Body armor is instrumental in protecting our deputies,” said Sheriff Michael Brockett, Curry County.
