Curry County Retired & Senior Volunteer Program Receives Grant Award
CURRY COUNTY (KSMX)- Curry County Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) has been selected as one of five awards granted within New Mexico following the completion of the Fiscal Year 2020 Senior Corps RSVP grant competition from The Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS).
Curry County award was for $47,500.
According to a news release, the Retired & Senior Volunteer Program has been active in Curry County since 1986 and is one of America’s largest volunteer networks for people 55 and older, engaging volunteers to use their skills and experience to tackle a diverse range of activities. Volunteers recruit and manage other volunteers, offer free tax preparation, deliver meals to the elderly and disabled, serve at food banks and pantries, provide support at senior centers and more.
Curry County has ninety-seven Retired & Senior Volunteers in the program.
