Curry County reports first death related to COVID-19

CLOVIS (KSMX)- Twenty-five additional COVID-19 cases were announced in Eastern New Mexico as state health officials confirmed 238 more cases statewide on Thursday.

State health officials have also reported the first death in Curry County. According to the NMDOH, the death related to the virus was a man in his 70’s.

Curry County saw 20 new cases confirmed, Quay County had 3 and Roosevelt County saw 2.

Total county case count:

  • Curry County: 227
  • Quay County: 12
  • Roosevelt County:76

Curry County has reported 67 individuals and Roosevelt County has reported 32 individuals making a full recovery from the virus.

New Mexico has now had a total of 14,251 COVID-19 cases and the number of deaths of New Mexico residents related to COVID-19 is now 533.
