CURRY COUNTY GAINS RANCHVALE VOLUNTEER DEPARTMENT

CLOVIS (KSMX)- Curry County has developed a new fire district and gained the Ranchvale Volunteer Fire Department. Ranchvale is about 16-miles outside the city limits of Clovis and sits in the middle of a big void of fire districts. In the past, City of Clovis was the closest and biggest responding fire department in the area. However, having this this new department in that area will improve response times in Ranchvale and lower insurance rates for some property owners.
It’s been a community effort to get Ranchvale up and running. Chief Nolen and the City of Clovis is lending the department a truck indefinitely, an instrumental donation to getting the department certified. Officials have also donated 1.3-acres of land for the station to be built on and hopes to break ground no later than August.
