Curry County Board scheduled to tour Detention Center
CLOVIS (KSMX)- According to a press release, the Board of Curry County Commission will tour and review the Detention Center Renovation and Addition Project on Wednesday, June 24, at 9:00 a.m.
The County Detention Center Renovation and Addition Project includes a new 48-bed housing unit addition with 2 recreation yards as well as a new medical unit for the facility consisting of approximately 22,860 square feet of new space.
A new sally-port was also constructed allowing for renovations to the old sally-port converting it into a new booking area that contains a pre-booking space, medical exam area, holding cells and inmate property room. Other renovations to the Detention Center include a new security electronics control system, a security camera system, a video visitation system and a new HVAC system.
The construction cost of the renovations and additions to the Detention Center was $12,794,226.
During the tour a quorum will be present, but no public policy will be formulated and the tour will not be open to the public. The Board will provide a report of their tour at the next regular Commission Meeting that is scheduled for Tuesday, July 7, at 9:00 am.
