Construction on Sugarbeet Road underway
Media Release, City of Clovis:
Beginning Wednesday, October 11, 2023, K. Barnett and Sons will begin construction work on Sugarbeet Road from US 60/84 to the City of Clovis’ property line, which is approximately 713.5 feet long by 28 feet wide, totaling 2,220 square yards.
Work will include the removal and replacement of existing concrete, base material, and subgrade improvements. The intersection of Sugar Beet Road and US 60/84 will be reconstructed with thicker, reinforced concrete to accommodate heavy truck traffic.
While this work is taking place, please follow traffic controls as posted and seek alternate routes around construction. This project is expected to be completed around the beginning of December.
The total project cost is $401,722. The City of Clovis received a grant from the New Mexico Department of Transportation and the Local Government Road Fund in the amount of $341,871 for this project. The remaining $59,851 will be covered by the City of Clovis.
