CMS TO START SCHOOL TECHNOLOGY INITIATIVE

CLOVIS (KSMX) – Clovis Municipal Schools has announced that beginning in April, the schools will undergo a major technology upgrade for students. The initiative, called 1:1 technology initiative, means that there will be one device for one student. The District will be distributing Chromebooks to each of the students, beginning at CHS Freshman Academy, then Clovis High, followed by the three middles schools; according to a release from the schools. The District hopes that the initiative will be completed by the end of this school year. Then starting in the 2019-2020 school year, Chromebooks will be distributed to the elementary schools in the form of classroom sets to be used under supervision of teachers. The district will be using these laptops for web-based educational material. Questions regarding the initiative should be directed to the Clovis Schools.
