CMS ADDS NEW/FAMILIAR FACES TO ADMINISTRATION POSITIONS
CLOVIS (KSMX)- Clovis Municipal Schools have hired a number of new administrative additions for the upcoming school years.
Nicole “Nikki” Hahn has accepted the position of Principal at Cameo Elementary School. Ms. Hahn began her career with Clovis Municipal Schools in 1994 as a Science teacher and department head at Marshall Middle School. In 2010, Nikki transferred to the CHS Freshman Academy to teach Biology and since 2016, Ms. Hahn has served as a District Instructional Coach. Ms. Hahn received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Eastern New Mexico University in 1994 and her Master’s in Education Administration in 2014 from Wayland Baptist University. Her new position will begin July 15. This vacancy was created by the resignation of Michael Read.
Kristi Hopper has accepted the position of Principal at James Bickley Elementary School. Prior to coming to Clovis Schools, Ms. Hopper taught at Bel Air Elementary School in Albuquerque since 2004. In 2016, Kristi began her career as a teacher at James Bickley Elementary School. Ms. Hopper received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1997 and Master’s in Elementary Education in 2004 from the University of New Mexico. Her new position will begin July 15. This vacancy was created by the transfer of Laura Adkins.
Carrie Geisler has accepted the position of Principal at Parkview Elementary School. Ms. Geisler began her career with Clovis Municipal Schools in 1994 as a 4th teacher. During her 25 years at Parkview Elementary, she has also taught 5th and 6th grade. In 2018, Carrie received the New Mexico Excellence in Teaching Award. Ms. Geisler received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Eastern New Mexico University in 1994 and her Master of Science in Education Administration in 2001. Her new position will begin July 15.This vacancy was created by the transfer of Wayne Marshall.
Laura Adkins has accepted the position of Executive Director of Language, Culture, and At-Risk Services for Clovis Municipal Schools. Prior to being hired as the principal of James Bickley Elementary School in 2013, Ms. Adkins lead two Early Childhood Intervention Programs for Clovis Schools, Los Niños and Lincoln-Jackson. Laura has also served as a Family and Consumer Science teacher in Farwell, Texas, GRADS Program faculty lecturer at Eastern New Mexico University, and the Childcare Center Director and teacher for Portales Schools. Ms. Adkins received her Bachelor of Science in 1985 and Master’s in Education Administration in 2006 from Eastern New Mexico University. Her new position will begin July 15.This vacancy was created by the transfer of Renee Russ who has been selected as the new superintendent.
