CLOVIS WOMAN AGREES TO PLEA DEAL ON EMBEZZLEMENT CHARGES

CLOVIS (KSMX) – A Clovis woman has escaped prison time after admitting that she stole more than 12-thousand dollars from a local grocery store. 58-year-old Rosa Davis had been charged with more than 150 counts of embezzlement, but prosecutors said they had reached a plea deal earlier last week. Many of the charges were dropped, while prosecutors continued to press for Davis to admit to 10 of the most serious charges. She did enter a guilty plea to the ten charges, so the prosecution recommended that Davis serve probation instead of prison time. She was sentenced to serve just under five years of supervised probation. Davis is also ordered to pay full restitution to Albertsons grocery store.
