CLOVIS WIND SYMPHONY RECEIVES MARK OF EXCELLENCE AWARD
CLOVIS (KSMX)- This month the Clovis High School Wind Symphony received the “Mark of Excellence” award from the “Foundation for Music Education” in the New Music Category for this recorded performance.
This piece was commissioned by the CHS Band to honor our long-time friend, clinician, and mentor, Dr. Gary Garner. The piece was composed by Portales native, Dr. BJ Brooks, who is currently the professor of Music Theory and Composition at West Texas A&M University.
