Clovis O.T. pleas guilty to crimes against minors

Clovis, NM — Jared Cordum, a Clovis-based occupational therapist, entered a guilty plea last week to multiple charges stemming from allegations of sexual misconduct involving several child patients during in-home therapy sessions.
Cordum was initially arrested in July 2024 following an investigation by the New Mexico Department of Justice and the Clovis Police Department. The investigation was prompted by reports from parents and guardians who raised concerns about inappropriate conduct during therapy sessions. A school therapist also reported alarming behavior after a foster child disclosed unsettling experiences during sessions with Cordum.
Authorities stated that Cordum performed procedures beyond the scope of his occupational therapy license, including administering enemas and conducting unauthorized ultrasounds. A forensic expert concluded that these actions violated the standard of care for occupational therapy.
Cordum remains in custody at the Curry County Detention Center. A dispositional hearing is scheduled for September, where the court will determine the next steps in the legal proceedings
