Clovis man wanted for fleeing officer

CLOVIS (KSMX)- A Clovis man with outstanding warrants is wanted for fleeing an officer resulting in said officer charging his weapon.

On Thursday, June 11, at about 3:08  officers with the Clovis Police Department were attempting to locate a wanted subject, identified as Jesus Anaya,26, in an apartment complex located at Grand and Rencher Streets.

Officers made contact with a person they were able to identify as Anaya in the driver seat of a white pickup parked along the street on the north side of the apartment complex. The subject was not compliant with officers, and when instructed to exit the vehicle. The truck was placed into reverse and sped backward ramming a police vehicle, before speeding away.

As a result of this incident, an officer on scene discharged his duty firearm at the vehicle as the vehicle began to speed away.
