Clovis man sought for homicide found in Amarillo

CLOVIS (KSMX)- A Clovis man wanted in the homicide of William Romero has been found in Amarillo, Texas.

On Friday, November 22,  at about 10:20 p.m., Officers of the Clovis Police Department were dispatched to the 1300 block of West 8th Streets for a shots-fired call. Shortly after the initial call, Clovis Police Department dispatch received a call about a male subject being shot.

Upon arrival, at the steps to a residence, Officers encountered a male who had no signs of life. The victim has been identified as William Romero (28 years of age).

During the course of the investigation, Steven Hogues (34 years of age), was identified as the suspect of the homicide. An arrest warrant for Murder and Felon in Possession of a Firearm was generated for Steven Hogues.

On November 24, at about 3:21 a.m., the Randall County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Steven Hogues was in custody in Amarillo, Texas. Captain Roman J. Romero
