CLOVIS MAN SENTENCED TO PRISON

CLOVIS (KSMX) – Earlier today, Ninth Judicial District Attorney, Andrea Reeb, announced that a Clovis man was sentenced to 23 years in prison. The man, 40-year-old Shannon Dwane Jackson was found guilty earlier this month by a Curry County jury. They found Jackson guilty of Trafficking Controlled Substances, a first-degree felony; Tampering with Evidence, a third-degree felony; Resisting Evading or Obstructing an Officer, a misdemeanor; and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. Charges stem from an undercover drug operation by the Region V Drug Task Force in October 2014. Jackson who is currently serving a sentence on a federal drug trafficking conviction, will return to federal custody before beginning to serve this sentence.
