CLOVIS MAN FOUND GUILTY OF CSP OF MINOR

CLOVIS (KSMX) – It was announced today that a Clovis man was found guilty of CSP of a minor. A Roosevelt County jury found 58-year-old Benjamin Pritchett guilty of the first-degree felony; District Attorney Andrea Reeb announced. The crime stems from August of 2016, when the child’s aunt reported the assault to the Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office. At the time of the incident, Pritchett was a resident of Floyd, where the child was spending the night. The child gave a statement at an Oasis interview. Pritchett was arrested in Midland, Texas in October of 2016. The Honrable Donna J. Mowrer presided over the two-day trial, and ordered that Pritchett be taken into custody immediately. He will be sentenced March 29th, where he faces 18 years in the New Mexico Department of Corrections.
