Clovis man arrested on outstanding warrant

CLOVIS (KSMX) – Clovis Police apprehended a man for an outstanding arrest warrant after a tactical situation on April 1 that began at 12:01 am.

Officers of the Clovis Police Department responded to the area of Sparrow Court in Clovis for a “shots fired” call and attempted to stop a vehicle. The driver abandoned the vehicle on foot, and was armed with a handgun.

A perimeter was set around the area, but the subject who had ran, identified as Adrian Robles, 33, was not located.

Adrian Robles was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant for Assault with Intent to Commit a Violent Felony and Felon in Possession of a Firearm for a shooting that had occurred on March 18 in Clovis. At about 9:15 a.m., Officers were patrolling the area of Sparrow Court when they noted movement at a trailer that had been the focus of the earlier call at 12:01 a.m.

Detectives from the Special Operations Unit of the Clovis Police Department generated a search warrant for the residence and, because of the violent nature of the arrest warrant for Adrian Robles and his continued use of a firearm earlier in the day, the Clovis Police Department SWAT Team was activated and deployed to execute the search warrant.

By 11:58 a.m., Adrian Robles surrendered himself, exiting the home without further conflict. Once Robles was in custody, SWAT/CNU continued attempting contact at the scene.

Officials could not verify that there were no other persons were in the home so, tactical operations continued. Irritating gas was deployed into the residence and it was subsequently searched by SWAT where no other persons were found. Detectives of the Special Operations Unit searched the residence, locating a semi-automatic pistol.

Adrian Robles was arrested for his outstanding arrest warrants and more charges are pending.
