Media Release, Clovis Police Department
Clovis, NM – On Wednesday, August 6th, 2025 at about 5:30 a.m., Clovis Police Department received a 911 call from people in a moving vehicle, who said they had been shot. The driver continued toward Plains Regional Medical Center where Officers met with them. The victims, an 18-year-old female and 17-year-old juvenile, stated they had been at a home in the 900 block of Piersall Avenue, when they were shot at. A suspect in the shooting named “Alex,” was initially relayed to Officers by Police Department Dispatch. The victims had injuries to their heads and upper bodies.
Officers responded to Piersall Avenue where they encountered a male subject named Alan Flores (21 years of age) who was looking at the multiple expended bullet casings in the roadway. Clovis Police Department Detectives were dispatched to investigate this incident. The name of the suspect was clarified as “Alan” not “Alex” on initial interviews of the victims. Alan Flores and a juvenile female (17 years of age) were associated with the suspect residence on Piersall Avenue. Alan Flores and the 17-year-old female were transported to the Clovis Police Department for interviews. A 20-year-old female showed up to the Piersall Avenue residence and was subsequently interviewed.
Detectives learned through interviews that an argument had occurred at the residence during a party. The injured victim females left the party and eventually went back to the residence. Once at the residence, one of the victims recognized the juvenile female who lives at the Piersall Avenue address and a male she only knows as “Alan”. One victim reported “Alan” raised a rifle and began firing the weapon at them. The vehicle being driven by the victim was struck and the occupants were injured.
A search warrant was generated and executed on the Piersall Avenue residence. Detectives recovered an AK pattern rifle in 7.62×39 caliber with two magazines. Bullets in one of the magazines were consistent with the casings recovered outside of the home.
Alan Flores was arrested for Shooting at a Motor Vehicle (resulting in great bodily harm) a second-degree felony, and Aggravated Battery (use of a deadly weapon) a third-degree felony. He was transported to the Curry County Detention Center.
