Graduation has been a long time coming, but for Clovis Community College students, faculty, and administrators, everyone is excited it’s happening this May. Due to prior COVID-19 restrictions, the college will be honoring graduates from the classes of Fall 2019, Spring 2020, Summer 2020, Fall 2020, Spring 2021, and Summer 2021.

“We are grateful to be able to have an in-person commencement ceremony to recognize the resiliency of our students,” said Dr. Robin Kuykendall, Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management and Student Services at CCC. “They have worked hard to overcome many obstacles, and it is a privilege to be able to celebrate their accomplishments.” CCC Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr. Robin Jones agreed.

“I am so proud of our graduates in this Commencement Ceremony. In a normal situation, CCC graduates rise above the usual life issues—family and children, employment, and the rigor of our programs. This graduating class was forced to add a different set of circumstances to life’s stressors in the form of COVID, which included homeschooling children, alternate learning modalities, and lockdown requirements. I applaud each graduate and the personal dedication it took to get to this point!”

The graduation event will be observed with all COVID19 protocol maintained, masking, and socially distanced seating. CCC will present degrees to 175 graduates at 6 p.m. May 14 in the Curry County Events Center. Col. Robert Masaitis, Commander of the 27th Special Operations Wing at Cannon Air Force Base, will be the guest commencement speaker.
