CLOVIS COMMISSION CONSIDERS WHO WILL TAKE OVER THE ESSENTIAL AIR SERVICE CONTRACT

CLOVIS (KSMX)- Earlier this month, the Clovis/Curry County Chamber of Commerce conducted a survey of business and community members to find out the best route option for service at the Clovis airport. With a total of 2,185 respondents, 62.70% chose Dallas/Ft. Worth as the best route option. Denver and Albuquerque were closely tied with 35.78% and 34% of respondents choosing these destinations.

This may be a huge influence over who will be taking over the Essential Air Service beginning this January.

The Clovis City Commission will be considering different submissions of air carriers to take over for Boutique Air who is serving the current EAS contract in their meeting October 22.

There have been five submissions all together from the following airlines:

  • Advanced Air
  • Boutique Airlines
  • Contour Airlines
  • Key lime Corp.
  • Sky West

The Federal Aviation Administration will have the final decision.
