Clovis Animal Shelter Addressing Concerns of Outbreak of Distemper

“The City of Clovis Animal Shelter has been responding to concerns regarding an outbreak of distemper in the area. Existing protocols include vaccinations of all animals upon entry to the shelter, thorough daily cleaning of the facility, observing the health and wellness of animals located within the shelter, and taking appropriate action regarding their health as needed. In consultation with area vets, effective immediately, animals who have been in the shelter for more than 15 days and who have received the parvo/distemper vaccine upon intake, and a subsequent booster shot 14 days later, will be available for adoption. Prior to the 15-day quarantine period, animals will be unavailable for adoption.”
