CHARGES PENDING REGARDING BATTERY INCIDENT AT CURRY COUNTY DETENTION CENTER
On June 3, 2021, at approximately 5:45 PM, Curry County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Curry County Detention Center regarding an inmate who had been battered by another inmate. It is alleged that Corey Dixon (21 years of age) battered Michael Bradley (63 years of age) while they were being housed together in the medical ward. Bradley was transported to Plains Regional Medical Center with critical injuries, and was subsequently transported to a medical facility in Lubbock, Texas. The Major Crimes Unit was activated to assist with the on-going investigation. The investigation is continuing and charges are pending.
