Clovis, N.M. — Nearly four decades of continuous accreditation underscore the quality of the Nursing Program at Clovis Community College (CCC).
The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) has granted continuing accreditation through Spring 2033, with the next comprehensive site visit scheduled for that year. CCC’s nursing program has held ACEN accreditation since 1987, demonstrating a long-standing commitment to high standards in nursing education.
“We are extremely proud of our program and its renewed ACEN accreditation. This recognition only affirms what we already know: Our faculty, staff, and students work extremely hard to ensure that our graduates are fully prepared to provide excellent care in our communities,” CCC President Jonathan Fuentes said of the accomplishment.
The ACEN Board of Commissioners confirmed the outstanding achievement in a September 25, 2025, notification letter. ACEN determined the program meets or exceeds all national standards with no stipulations or findings, ensuring CCC graduates remain well prepared for professional practice.
“As both an alumna and the Program Director of Clovis Community College’s Nursing Program, I am honored to share the continued accreditation of our program,” said Nursing Program Director Elena Soto.
“This recognition reflects the unwavering dedication of our faculty, who work tirelessly to uphold the highest standards of nursing education and practice. Equally important, we are committed to fostering a culture of compassion and kindness—both inside and outside the classroom—so that our graduates not only deliver excellent clinical care but also embody the values that define our profession. Together, we remain steadfast in serving Clovis and the surrounding communities with integrity and excellence.”
The Clovis Community College Nursing Program received its first ACEN accreditation in 1987. Since that time, thousands of nurses have completed the program and entered the healthcare field. Clovis Community College’s Nursing Program has consistently demonstrated excellence, achieving a 100 percent pass rate on the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses and a 96.42 percent pass rate on the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses for the 2024–2025 academic year.
