Cannon Appreciation Day celebrated local military

Media Release, City of Clovis:

The Clovis/Curry County Chamber of Commerce, Committee of Fifty and Clovis Economic Development along with the Portales Military Affairs Committee, Roosevelt County Chamber of Commerce and Roosevelt County Community Development Corporation hosted an appreciation event for Cannon Air Force Base last week.

The event was held at Unity Park at Cannon and honored those in our community that are active duty, retired, their dependents and family members. Cannon Appreciation Day has been a long-held tradition in Clovis, with the Committee of Fifty providing a lunch of hamburgers and hot dogs and giving away thousands of dollars in prizes.

This event is a unique way for our community to share our appreciation for our military residents while forging heartfelt connections with them that will last beyond their time here in Clovis. Cornhole, dips in the dunk tank, delicious food, amazing prizes and camaraderie filled the day, and we cannot say thank you enough to our friends at Cannon Air Force Base, we are proud to have you in our community.
