BID FOR PIPELINE CONSTRUCTION TO PORTALES TO BE PLACED MID MARCH
The Eastern New Mexico Water Utility Authority (ENMWUA) has received notice of United States Bureau of Reclamation (USBR) 2021 appropriations in the amount of $14,800,000 for use in the Eastern New Mexico Rural Water System pipeline construction to Portales. The phase of pipeline construction called Finished Water Three (FW3) will construct the transmission water pipeline to Portales that will connect to the already completed FW2 pipeline northwest of Cannon Air Force Base.
The purpose of the project is to provide potable water to four city member agencies and Cannon Air Force Base for municipal, commercial, and industrial use from a renewable surface water supply at Ute reservoir. The member communities are Clovis (includes Cannon Air Force Base), Portales (includes Roosevelt County), Texico, and Elida
The ENMWUA will go out to bid mid-March or early April 2021 on a portion of the FW3 pipeline to Portales, about two thirds of the total length of FW3. Construction of the second and final phase of FW3 will commence soon after phase one is complete
