AREA LAW MAKERS OPPOSE RECREATIONAL MARIJUANA

EASTERN NEW MEXICO (KSMX) – Area lawmakers are expressing strong opposition to efforts to legalize recreational marijuana use in New Mexico. The Eastern New Mexico News reports that Clovis Representative Randy Crowder, Senator Stuart Ingle of Portales, Senator Pat Woods of Broadview, and three incoming representatives from Roswell, Mosquero, and Clovis, are all against the idea. One of the main reasons, they say, is due to area law enforcement that says it is not ready to handle a new law legalizing recreational pot use. They also say they’re concerned that legalizing recreational use will make it easier for pot to get into the hands of minors.
