ADDITIONAL COVID CASES REPORTED AT CLOVIS SCHOOLS
NOTICE OF POSITIVE COVID-19 TESTS
Clovis Municipal Schools is working with the New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED) and New Mexico’s Department of Health (NMDOH) because a staff member or a child at Highland Elementary School, Clovis High School, and Arts Academy at Bella Vista have tested positive for COVID-19.
Areas of the school (including buses, if applicable) in which the COVID-19 positive individual spent time will be cleaned and disinfected and those who were close contacts of the positive case have been notified.
Please continue to send your child to school unless you have been notified that your child was a close contact of a positive COVID-19 individual, your child develops COVID-19 symptoms, or your child has a positive COVID-19 test. The District has provided decision trees for COVID-19 symptoms, quarantine, and isolation online: http://www.clovis-schools.org/COVID-19.html
Likewise, your household members do not need to quarantine unless your child tests positive for COVID-19 or your household members are identified as a close contact of a positive COVID-19 individual.
The District will not release further information or comment on specific COVID-19 cases due to privacy laws.
