2 additional individuals test positive for COVID-19 in Curry County

SANTA FE (KSMX)- New Mexico state health officials on Tuesday announced 109 additional positive tests for COVID-19 including two more in Curry County.

Per the state Department of Health, the most recent cases are:

  • 42 new cases in Bernalillo County
  • 1 new case in Chaves County
  • 1 new case in Cibola County
  • 2 new cases in Curry County
  • 5 new cases in Doña Ana County
  • 1 new case in Grant County
  • 11 new cases in McKinley County
  • 24 new cases in San Juan County
  • 18 new cases in Sandoval County
  • 2 new cases in Santa Fe County
  • 1 new case in Taos County
  • 1 new case in Torrance County

Including the above newly reported cases, New Mexico has now had a total of 794 positive tests for COVID-19.

The Eastern New Mexico News reported Plains Regional Medical Center officials said 191 people had been tested with eight positive in the immediate area.

“At Plains Regional Medical Center, we have incredible staff and clinicians who are prepared to care for patients in need during this crisis,” said Drew Dostal, hospital chief executive at Plains Regional Medical Center. “We are here for you. We also want to remind our community to practice social distancing and effective hand hygiene so that we can all stay as healthy as possible.”
