Clovis driver dies after single-vehicle crash in Parmer County

A single-vehicle accident resulted in the death of Clovis resident, Colby Sneller, on Friday, August 4th.

According to the report given by the Texas Department of Public Safety, Sneller, 32, was driving a 2016 Ford F150 eastbound on FM145 late Friday evening.

The accident is currently under investigation, but police believe that the accident was a result of Sneller failing to negotiate a slight left curve in the roadway, causing the pickup to veer off the road.

It is assumed that he overcorrected the steering and entered into a right-side skid back across the roadway. The pickup traveled into a ditch, struck a steep dirt embankment, and rolled over multiple times before resting in a field (Amarillo Globe-News, 8.7.23).

Sneller, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle during the accident. He was taken to the hospital in Muleshoe with life-threatening injuries, where he later died from the injuries sustained in the crash.

The posted speed limit was 75 mph, and road conditions were dry and clear at the time of the crash, which remains under investigation by the Texas Highway Patrol Troopers.
